Yoga is a powerful practice for growing into our most authentic self, a blossoming, beloved person of God.

Anam Cara Yoga is shaped to support you in your journey towards healing, wholeness, and fullness of life. We practice on the mat so that we can go forth to live, to know, and more fully to be God’s love in the world.

Classes are held in the Parish Hall at St. Patrick’s Church.

Class Schedule:

Mondays noon (all levels)– A basics class grounded in a meditative spirit.

Fridays noon (all levels) – Yin: Fewer poses held for extended lengths of time, allowing the stretches to move more deeply into our joints, soft tissue and fascia.

Bring a mat, water, and a towel (If you don’t have a yoga mat we have a few extras we love to share!). Please arrive 10 minutes early to set up. We begin classes promptly, and it is disruptive when students enter after the start of class.

  • Cost will be structured in this way:
    • Drop In: $15
    • 5 Class Card: $65 ($13/class)
    • 10 Class Card: $115 ($11.50/class)
    • 20 Class Card: $200 ($10/class)
  • Class cards are valid for six months from date of purchase, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the classes you purchase.

Scholarships joyously available. Please speak with Julia ahead of time.

Private and semi-private yoga sessions are also available.  Please speak with Julia.

10% of all yoga proceeds are donated to Centering Youth, a 501(c)(3) non-profit yoga service initiative that brings Yoga and Mindfulness to young people in the juvenile justice system, and to those who have been sexually exploited, abused, or are homeless.

This poem by Danna Fauldes beautifully describes Anam Cara’s approach to yoga:

Yoga is not about the pose
It’s not the alignment of
toes or hips or shoulders.
It’s not about the form.

Yoga is an invitation to
explore, not a commandsunset lake
performance.  It speaks
the language of the soul.

In the flow of breath and
motion, yoga coaxes us
from the confines of the
known, across the silent
threshold into vastness.

Yoga is the union of prayer
and movement, guided from
inside.  It is healing and the
joy of saying yes to life.

Breathe, relax and feel the
body receive its own truth.
The seed of freedom flowers
within each of us whenever
we are open to what’s real.
